I’m pedantic when it comes to my sensitive skin so I always want to ensure that whatever I put on it, is not going to leave me with a red, tight mess and breakouts. When I first read about Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water, I was super hesitant as it entails not using any actual water on your face. I finally decided to use it and I loved it so much I’m already on my second bottle, the first one lasted months.
The blurb reads:
LIFTS MAKEUP LIKE A MAGNET: Micellar Cleansing Water features micelle cleansing molecules that pull oil and dirt away from the face. Our all-in-1 cleanser gently takes all makeup off, no rinsing, no harsh rubbing.
So I decided to put it to the test. When I first used it, I followed the instructions and soaked a cotton wool makeup remover pad with the Micellar Water, then wiped my face down. It took a good few swipes, but it managed to completely remove my eye makeup (eyeliner and mascara) as well as any dirt on my skin. I did this twice just in case. I then used another cotton wool swab and then wiped my face with normal water and my face was really clean. It also felt clean and moisturized, not tight or dry as with some cleansers. I was very impressed and decided to use it for a few weeks to see if it made any difference to my skin. It’s now been months and I have to say since I started using it, I’ve had no breakouts or any other adverse effects. My skin is just as clean as it would be had I used a normal cleanser.
Overall, the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water works amazingly well. I still do a spa like cleanse once a week with my regular Obagi cleanser and sonic massage brush, but the cleansing water is a massive time saver for those lazy nights when I’m just not in the mood for full face routine.
